Resume

Dr.-Ing. Galih Bangga

A research scientist in wind energy at the Institute of Aerodynamics and Gas Dynamics – University of Stuttgart in Germany. Over 10 years of experience in aerodynamics and computational fluid dynamics. Up to this date, has handled 8 projects, edited 1 monograph and 4 book chapters and published over 58 peer-reviewed journal & conference papers.

His research activities are mainly focused in CFD-based numerical simulations of wind turbines exposed to atmospheric, turbulent inflow conditions with emphasis on the unsteady load, wake and acoustic characteristics but also in continuous development of robust and accurate engineering models. In addition to that, he has a particular interest in improving the aerodynamic performance of wind turbines under off-design conditions which are realized through layout optimization, blade design and flow control mechanisms.
